Odoo + Wafeq integration: send UAE e-invoices from inside Odoo

The Inwizards Odoo–Wafeq connector links Odoo's Invoicing app to Wafeq, a UAE Accredited Service Provider. You connect once in Odoo's settings, validate each invoice against Wafeq's rules before it leaves, submit it from the invoice, and watch its processing status in Odoo. No file exports, no retyping into a portal. For companies above AED 50 million, the provider must be appointed by 30 October 2026 and e-invoices start on 1 January 2027.

What the Odoo–Wafeq connector does

UAE e-invoicing requires every in-scope invoice to travel as a structured electronic document through an Accredited Service Provider, who delivers it to your customer and reports it to the Federal Tax Authority. Odoo does not do this on its own. If your company has chosen Wafeq as its provider, this connector is the bridge: your finance team keeps working in Odoo, and every invoice is checked, sent to Wafeq and tracked from the invoice record itself.

Checked before it leaves

Each invoice is validated against Wafeq's format rules inside Odoo, so a missing field is fixed on the invoice — not discovered after submission.

Sent from the invoice

Submit to Wafeq from the confirmed invoice. No exports, no uploads, no second system for your accountants to learn.

Status you can see

A refresh on the invoice shows the processing stage Wafeq has reached. The same invoice is visible on the Wafeq dashboard for a cross-check.

How to send UAE e-invoices from Odoo to Wafeq

Six steps. The first two are done once; the rest are part of the invoicing your team already does.

01

Open the Wafeq settings in Odoo

In Odoo, go to Invoicing → Configuration → Settings and open the Wafeq section added by the connector.

→
02

Enter credentials and test the connection

Enter the API credentials Wafeq issued to your company and press Test Connection. Odoo shows a success or error message straight away.

→
03

Create and confirm the customer invoice

Create the customer invoice in Odoo exactly as you do today and confirm it.

→
04

Validate against Wafeq's rules

Run the validation from the invoice. Anything that would fail Wafeq's format rules is shown on the invoice so it can be fixed before sending.

→
05

Submit the e-invoice to Wafeq

Submit the invoice to Wafeq from the invoice itself. Payments continue to be registered in Odoo as usual.

→
06

Track the status in Odoo

Use the status refresh on the invoice to see which processing stage it has reached, and cross-check it on the Wafeq dashboard if needed.

→

What the connector does not do for you

A connector moves invoices; it cannot fix the data underneath them. The most common reasons an invoice fails are on the records themselves — a customer without a TRN, an address with the emirate typed as free text instead of a code, a tax in Odoo that does not map to a single e-invoicing category. If your Odoo has years of customers and custom modules behind it, we recommend the two-day readiness assessment first, so the first invoices you submit are the ones that pass.

You appoint Wafeq

Wafeq is your provider and your contract is with them. Inwizards is an Odoo developer, not an Accredited Service Provider, and does not resell provider services.

Not on Wafeq?

Around sixty providers are accredited and you may appoint only one. If yours is a different provider, we build the equivalent Odoo integration to it.

Odoo and Wafeq e-invoicing — FAQ

It is an Odoo module built by Inwizards that connects Odoo's Invoicing app to Wafeq, a UAE Accredited Service Provider for e-invoicing. From inside Odoo you enter your Wafeq credentials, test the connection, validate each invoice against Wafeq's rules, submit it, and see its processing status — without exporting files or logging in to a separate portal for every invoice.

Yes. Wafeq appears on the UAE Ministry of Finance's published list of e-invoicing service providers. Every UAE business in scope of the mandate must appoint exactly one provider; if Wafeq is the one you choose, this connector is how your Odoo talks to it.

Yes. You contract with Wafeq directly as your provider and receive API credentials from them. The connector uses those credentials from Odoo's Invoicing settings. Inwizards is not an Accredited Service Provider and does not resell Wafeq's service.

Yes. Each invoice can be validated against Wafeq's format rules from inside Odoo before it is submitted, so problems are found on the invoice in Odoo rather than after it has left.

Yes. After submission the invoice in Odoo shows its processing status, and a refresh button pulls the latest status from Wafeq. The same invoice is also visible on the Wafeq dashboard if you want to cross-check.

The UAE has around sixty accredited providers and you may appoint only one. If yours is not Wafeq, we build the equivalent integration to your provider and start with a two-day readiness assessment of your Odoo data. See UAE e-invoicing for Odoo.

Businesses with revenue above AED 50 million must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026 and issue e-invoices from 1 January 2027. All other businesses must appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027. The Ministry of Finance has said no further extensions will be granted.
