Amazon Connector for Odoo — Setup & User Guide

End-to-end setup, configuration, and operation of the Inwizards Amazon Connector for Odoo — from installation and SP-API authorization to product sync, FBA/FBM operations, tax invoicing, and automation.

1. Installation & updates

After downloading the Amazon Connector app from the Odoo App Store, place it in your Odoo add-ons path, then:

  1. Go to Apps in the dashboard and click Update Apps List.
  2. Locate Amazon Odoo Connector and click Install.

Upgrading to the latest version

  1. Log in to apps.odoo.com with the account you purchased from and download the latest version.
  2. Extract the zip and replace the existing amazon_ept add-on folder (for Odoo.sh, push the change to your GitHub repo).
  3. Restart the Odoo service (on-premise only), then go to Apps → Amazon Odoo Connector → Upgrade.

2. User access & roles

On install, the connector assigns Amazon Manager rights to the admin. Two roles are available:

  • Amazon Manager — full access to configuration and all processes.
  • Amazon User — cannot change configuration or delete Amazon details; day-to-day operations only.

Access follows Odoo's role-based permissions so each employee only sees what their job requires.

3. SP-API authorization

The connector uses Amazon's official Selling Partner API authorization. The seller authorizes the Inwizards application in their own Seller Central account — no credentials are shared with Inwizards.

Registration & authentication flow

  1. Seller Registration Form — from Amazon → Configuration → Settings → Register Your Seller ID, enter business name, the email registered with Seller Central, order reference, Merchant/Seller ID, and the marketplaces to integrate.
  2. Email verification — click the Verify link sent to your registered email.
  3. SP-API authentication — click Authenticate SP-API in the follow-up email; you are redirected to Amazon Seller Central to log in.
  4. SP-API data consent — Amazon asks for consent to access data via SP-API; click Confirm. Registration is complete.
Re-authorization: From Amazon → Configurations → Sellers, click SP-API Re-Authorisation. An authentication link (valid for 1 hour) is emailed; clicking it re-authenticates the seller account.

Finding your Merchant Token

In Amazon Seller Central: Settings → Account Information → Business Information → Merchant Token.

4. Seller & marketplace setup

Connect your Seller Central account

From Amazon → Configuration → Settings → Connect Your Seller Central Account, provide the seller name, country, Merchant ID/Token, and the Odoo company that will own the transactions.

Add more marketplaces

Multiple Amazon marketplaces can be integrated under one seller, grouped by region (e.g. Europe, North America). Each marketplace can carry its own tax and fulfillment configuration.

Switch fulfillment type

Choose FBA, FBM, or both, per seller and marketplace, from the settings screen.

5. Fulfillment (FBA / FBM)

FBM (seller-fulfilled)

  • Import FBM orders with a configurable order prefix and auto-workflow.
  • Set fulfillment latency and inventory handling.
  • Confirm shipments and push tracking numbers back to Amazon (manually or via scheduler).

FBA (fulfilled by Amazon)

  • Import FBA orders with default customer, sales-order sequence, and prefix options.
  • Import and auto-validate the FBA Live Stock Report, with control over reserved quantity.
  • Create and manage removal orders from Odoo (marketplace and warehouse configurable).
  • Manage outbound shipments with FillAll / FillAllAvailable fulfillment policies.
  • Configure accounting date, payment journal, debit method, shipping policy, and sales journal.

6. Product sync

Import / map products

Bring Amazon products into Odoo two ways: Import Products (create new Odoo products) or Map Products (link to existing Odoo products by SKU).

Export / update products

Publish products from Odoo to Amazon, including product info, Amazon info, listing elements, search terms, and description. Prices and stock can be updated to Amazon on demand or on a schedule.

7. Orders & inventory

Order import

Amazon orders (FBA & FBM) import automatically or on demand, mapped to Odoo sales orders with customer, items, pricing, and shipping details. Cancellations, returns, and refunds are handled.

Inventory synchronization

Stock updates flow from Odoo to Amazon in near real time to prevent overselling. Three update methods are supported: individual product, bulk/selected products, and automatic via scheduler.

8. Invoicing & tax

  • Tax invoices are generated in Odoo for Amazon orders using the applicable fiscal position.
  • Invoice upload policy controls whether invoices are uploaded back to Amazon.
  • Regional tax: VAT for EU/UK, GST with HSN codes for India, and US sales-tax configuration; multi-currency conversion is automatic.
  • Marketplace-facilitated tax (collected/remitted by Amazon) is recorded separately from seller-liable tax.

9. Settlement & reconciliation

The Settlement Report process reconciles Amazon payouts in Odoo:

  • Configure reimbursement customer, sales journal, and product; map Amazon transaction types to accounts, analytical tags, and taxes.
  • Handle shipments and other fees.
  • Run manually via Operations or automatically via scheduler.
Fatal status on a report indicates a data or configuration issue to resolve before reprocessing — the guide lists the two common causes and fixes.

10. Automation (schedulers)

Scheduled actions keep Amazon and Odoo in sync without manual work, including: import orders, update stock, update tracking, import FBA live inventory, import settlement reports, and auto-import FBA inbound shipment item status. Each scheduler's frequency is configurable.

11. Data security

Amazon data is processed and stored inside the seller's own Odoo environment. Access uses the seller's SP-API authorization only, with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, and audit logging. For full details on how Amazon data is collected, used, retained, and disposed of, see our Privacy Policy.
